ANNOUNCING A BRAND NEW SPARTAN NETWORK

Some Metro Detroit Spartan alumni and the MSU Alumni Association have started a new mailing list for alumni events and happenings around the area.

And there's a giveaway....

MSUAA president Scott Westerman and MSU basketball alumni Tim Bograkos will be taking a small group of alumni out to dinner and drinks in April or May.

To be a part of this, you'll need to sign up for the alumni list. The people who get to connect with Scott and Tim will be chosen at random.

The Michigan State University Alumni Association would like to welcome our new Executive Director Scott Westerman. 

Westerman comes to MSU from Albuquerque, NM, where he was an area vice president for Comcast Corp.’s West Division. He spearheaded a public relations turnaround for the company by leveraging social media such as Facebook and Twitter to respond to customer complaints.

 Joao Mattos is a 25 years old from Brazil who graduated from MSU with a B.A. in Social Science and minor in Anthropology.  He has been living in the USA for 12 years now, and is a huge Spartan Fan.
 
He became involved with MSUAA right after he graduated from Michigan State.  "I knew that I should join because I wanted to keep in touch with MSU and people." 
 
When asked  what was the main reason he wants to join John stated "the main reason and the best part of being a member of MSUAA is to the Career Services  resources offered to us alumni. Sometimes after you graduate, you don't have a set plan yet, which was my case but MSUAA Career Service helped me find job, and also put me in touch with great people to network with, to give me a jump start."
 
"Besides all this professional assistance other great benefits are discounts on all kinds of shopping things you can imagine. I really encourage our recent and future MSU grads to be part of MSUAA."

IzzoneThe Michigan State Alumni Association and Student Alumni Foundation welcomed over 800 former Izzone members back to campus for the January 6th men's basketball game against Wisconson.  This was the first time an event like this has taken place and was very successful. Below you will find a couple of articles that were written as well as a video from the days.
